'Dancing aWAY with the Stars' features Reeve Kelsey

"Dancing aWAY with the Stars II" will be presented Saturday, February 28 at Way Public Library. Guests will attend one of four shows and be asked to vote for their favorite dance couple.

The evening's entertainment pairs six local celebrities with six dance professionals who will compete for the trophy and coveted title of "Peoples Choice 2009." Awards will be presented at 10' p.m., on the main floor.

Celebrity dancers include Reeve Kelsey, Gerri Walzcak, Marianne Borkosky, Juan Artiaga, Joe Smith and Debby Peters.

Tickets are on sale at Way Library and are $75 per person. Show times are 7, 7:45, 8:30 and 9:15 p.m. In addition, the band Hepcat Revival will perform throughout the' night on the main stage. The premiere sponsor for this event is Physical Therapy Consultants.

This week's featured dance pair is Reeve Kelsey and Paulette.

Mr. Kelsey grew up in-Ottawa Hills, Ohio. He graduated from law school in 1976, began practicing law, and married Betsy. They lived in Maumee for a few years, then moved to Perrysburg where they raised their three daughters. Mr. Kelsey was mayor of Perrysburg for five years and has served as judge in the Court of Common Pleas in Bowling Green for 10 years.

He enjoys swimming and golfing and has recently taken up fly fishing on the Au Sable River. He said he hopes to soon be catching trout instead of snagging branches and bushes. His indoor sport is Pilates.
Mr. Kelsey said he uses Way Library regularly and is proud that he has a chance to benefit one of the gems of the Perrysburg community by dancing in this year's fundraiser.

Paulette, of Paulette's Studio of Dance, began dancing at the age of 4. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in dance at Ohio State University. She has been classically trained in ballet, modern dance, jazz and tap.

Her professional career began in Las Vegas, where she performed in City Lites as a dancer and ice dancer. She was a featured dancer in Beyond Belief with the Siegfried and Roy show and danced in the film "Great Balls of Fire”. She also performed in various dance productions and international videos with her partner Felix Chavez. Their specialty dance was Lambada.

She also has competed as a professional in the international Latin dance style. She has been teaching dance for the past 16 years and teaches persons of any ability in all types of. ballroom dance and pole dance fitness.
