Let me begin by establishing one thing: I know why our managing editor, Jason Webber, sent me to a pole-dancing class ... well, besides any strange personal reasons. It's because I am the last person on earth that anyone would expect to take a pole-dancing class. However, I am also an open-minded person, and will try anything once, particularly if it's going to result in the kind of hilarity I figured it would. Plus, if this whole newspaper thing didn't work out, maybe I'd have a marketable skill to fall back upon.

Surprisingly, I was wrong ... a pole-dancing class is fun. A lot of fun. And it's also an intensive workout, one from which I am still recovering.
